Tutoto Centre of Hope is a registered non-profit organization in Uganda that envisions a world where children thrive free from poverty. As an initiative it is our desire that all children no matter where they are born or raised get quality opportunities for them to reach their full potential.
We create nurturing early learning spaces where children can grow, thrive, and feel safe every day.
We empower women to lead quality childcare services through hands-on training and support.
We champion children’s rights by influencing policy and engaging the public in key issues.
Our purpose is; improve the access and quality of Early Childhood Care and Education practices in urban low income areas for children under 5 years, in Uganda. We do this by setting our daycares (Model Centres) in these communities and also offer training on best childcare practices to the women who have their own childcare centres in these areas so as to nurture well stimulated children in our society hence integrating them to be better citizens in the society.
During the first five years of life, the brain develops faster than at any other time. There are certain periods of time when children are especially receptive to their surroundings and interactions with other people. These periods of time are tied to brain development and readiness for learning
" My name is Harriet Kirabo, I am a parent at Tutoto. I
have a daughter Christianah who is four years old
and I am very happy to have my child at Tutoto, it is
near my home, when I take her to school I am able to
go and do my shoe business along the roadside. She
is always safe, healthy and happy. The teachers are
friendly and caring. I have seen a big change in my
daughter's life and care. I am able now to work more
hours and make more money. "
